Galvanized sheet (also known as tinplate) refers to a cold-rolled thin steel plate with a layer of metal tin on both sides. It integrates the hardness and strength of steel with the weldability, corrosion resistance and shiny appearance of tin. Galvanized sheets have the advantages of no odor, low weight, and ease of processing and shaping. Printing different patterns can also beautify the product, so they have been widely used in industries such as food cans, industry, electronic devices, chemical paints, etc. During the production of galvanized sheets, after the steel strip undergoes soft melting for tin plating, in order to prevent the tin layer of the galvanized sheet from oxidizing and turning yellow during storage or coating baking, and to improve the anti-sulfur performance and other properties of the galvanized sheet, the galvanized sheet needs to undergo passivation treatment. Galvanized sheets can be produced in the form of continuous annealing (CA) or intermittent annealing (BA).

The surface condition (surface roughness) of tinplate
Code name | Category | Characteristic |
B | Shiny surface | Tin is plated on the smooth surface of the substrate with a polished stone pattern, and then a soft melting treatment is carried out on the tin layer to obtain a glossy surface. |
R | The stone texture surface | A tin coating is applied to the substrate with a surface featuring a certain direction of grinding stone patterns, and then a soft melting treatment is carried out on the tin layer to obtain a glossy surface. |
S | Silver surface | The substrate with a rough and dull surface is plated with tin, and then the tin layer undergoes a soft melting treatment to obtain a shiny surface. |
M | A surface without light | A substrate with a non-lustrous surface that has been tin-coated but without undergoing soft melting treatment of the tin layer. |
